Dr Paul Oldershaw: President, BOHS 2003/04

Paul is Head of the Central Specialist Division of the UK Health & Safety Executive. He joined HSE on its formation in 1974 and has been involved in workplace health issues throughout his career; much of it relating to the assessment and control of chemical risks.

He has been an active member of BOHS since 1976. He was President in 1992 and is the first person to hold that office twice—however, the new merged Society is very different from that a decade ago. Paul is also past president of the International Occupational Hygiene Association, and in 2001 was given the Yant Award by the American Industrial Hygiene Association.
